Bridgemead Natures Lovers' Paradise House Rules

Smoking is allowed OUTSIDE on the veranda only.

No burning of incense or mosquito coils in the units. Please use insect repellent.

Minimise noise after 9 pm – consider neighbours, guests and the host, which resides on the premises.

Visitors to guests must not exceed the number of guests residing in the unit. Visitors to guests are charged a visitors fee (enquire from Management for alternative arrangements please).

Visitors to guests must vacate the premises of Bridgemead no later than 9 pm. Alternative arrangements may be discussed with management. Failure to comply with this rule will result in the guest being charged accommodation fees for visitors for that day.

Daily unit cleaning consists of our staff making beds and ensuring that the unit is neat and tidy. Additional unit cleaning may be requested prior to arrival at an additional fee (dishes etc). This will be quoted on and is payable upfront (Cash / EFT).

Guests’ laundry requests may be done at the local laundromat within 3km of Bridgemead.. Ironing facilities in the units.

Guest access


Guests have access to the entire house except other Guests’ bedrooms.

Bridgemeads River


Our stunning river is home to various wild life.

For bird lovers you’ll absolutely love the Fish eagles, Brown snake eagle and our King Fishers. We also have a small group of Dassies and at night Bush Pigs have been spotted along the river. We do have fish in our rivers for you to catch so bring your fishing rods!

Please take note of our policy: ‘catch and release’. These fish aren’t meant for human consumption.

Roosfontein

The beauty of the Roosfontein Nature Reserve is nestled in Westville, a small area just 20 minutes’ drive from Bridgemead. The reserve covers 150 hectares of South African grasslands, this is the ideal retreat for those that want a quick escape from city life, to enjoy the lushness and the crisp fresh air of the east coast countryside.​

North Park

This beautiful Nature reserve is is near Queensburgh. You can take a 12 minutes’ drive from Bridgemead and explore the wonders North Park has to offer! The reserve is home to very good birdlife, in particular the Knysna Turacos, which co-habit the region with their locally more common relatives, the Purple Crested Turaco. North Park covers 53ha in extent and comprises riverine and coastal scarp forest, where visitors can walk beneath the canopy of a mature forest.​

Paradise Valley

The Paradise Valley Nature Reserve comprises approximately 100 hectares of coastal forest and remnant grasslands with the Umbilo River running through the length of the Reserve. Paradise Valley has numerous hiking trails for you to choose from. The braai facilities and picnic area are fantastic for families and friends that want to enjoy the beautiful views while spending time together (and, of course, indulging in some great food). There are toilets here too. Remember to bring along a comfy pair of walking shoes, sunscreen, water, and towels to dry off after a dip in the river.​
